RFS provides the following information and services to its Subscribers:

1.   Information and Education:

•   About requirements and options related to end of life planning,

•   Regarding consumer rights and exploitation/abuse of consumers by the funeral   industry.

2.   Consumer Protection through advocacy for legislation and on behalf of anyone abused by the death industry.

3.   Monitoring Mortuary Conformance to FTC Guidelines. The Federal Trade Commission provides standards for General Price Lists (GPLs). Periodically, RFS volunteers request GPLs from every mortuary in our five counties, and we prepare a report on their conformance, a task almost impossible for the consumer to do alone.

4.   Planning Guides and Forms to record your wishes regarding after-death arrangements. The forms provide all the factual details family or friends will need, including questions to be answered at the time of death.

5.   Identification / Instruction card to carry in wallet or purse to show name of person to contact in emergency or death.

6.   Information on conducting home funerals and "green" (biodegradable) burials. These services provide alternative end of life choices.

7.   Newsletters. Our Spring and Fall newsletters features RFS activities & consumer issues.

8.   Annual Meetings where you get to hear interesting speakers, meet other members, and volunteer.
